Tiene 36 metros de altura. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Antiguamente estaba<strong> unida a la <a href=\"https:\/\/wordle.angelvilches.com\/sevilla\/torre-de-la-plata\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"314\">Torre de la Plata<\/a><\/strong> con un tramo de muralla, cerrando el paso al Arenal y formando parte de las murallas de Sevilla que defend\u00edan el Alc\u00e1zar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Est\u00e1 formada por tres tramos. El primer tramo dodecagonal se construy\u00f3 entre 1220 y 1221 por orden del gobernador almohade de Sevilla, Ab\u00f9 l-Ul\u00e0. El segundo tramo, tambi\u00e9n dodecagonal, fue construido por Pedro I el Cruel, en el siglo XIV. El cuerpo cil\u00edndrico superior completaba la torre, siendo construida en 1760 por el ingeniero militar Sebasti\u00e1n Van der Borcht.
