En 2019 contaba con 2603 habitantes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Su paisaje es el t\u00edpico de los pueblos de monta\u00f1a con<strong> casas blancas <\/strong>y techos de tejas marrones, totalmente integrado en el entorno natural y dominado por el <strong>Castillo de Hierro<\/strong>. El principal monumento de la <strong>Iglesia de San Antonio Abad<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los primeros asentamientos se remontan a la \u00e9poca de los turdetanos, cuyos vestigios se descubrieron en el Castillo situado a un kil\u00f3metro del actual pueblo. Los <strong>fenicios <\/strong>y los <strong>griegos <\/strong>tambi\u00e9n se asentaron all\u00ed.
