Su nombre proviene del sabor de sus aguas a causa de la miner\u00eda que se ha producido en su cuenca durante milenios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nace en Sierra Morena en un paraje conocido como Las Herrer\u00edas, en las proximidades de la aldea de El Peralejo, en el t\u00e9rmino municipal de El Castillo de las Guardas.
